Jeita Grotto features two distinct cave systems that take about two hours to fully explore. The site was a finalist for the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
Remember that smartphones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the caves to protect the ecosystem. The complex is closed to visitors every Monday.

Walk a 750-meter concrete path through brightly lit chambers. This upper section houses an 8.2-meter behemoth stalactite, the largest known in the world. Wear shoes with good grip, as the pathways can become damp and slippery. Do not touch the formations, as natural skin oils halt their growth.

Navigate a clear underground river on a silent electric boat. The 500-meter ride offers a serene perspective of the lower caverns. This section may close during heavy winter rains if water levels rise too high. Bring a light jacket, as the caves remain a cool 16°C (60°F) all year.
